Registration for SHL is now open for non-travel hockey players! You can register between now and November 10th with no late fee.
Senior House League (SHL) is co-ed, no contact ice hockey for boys and girls currently in grades 4-9, and attendance is NOT MANDATORY. Basically, it’s glorified pick up hockey that is timed, supervised, refereed and played in FULL EQUIPMENT – meaning every player must come with a full complement of protective gear that includes helmet, shoulder pads, gloves, pants, shin guards, skates and a stick. Games will be played on Friday and Saturday evenings just prior to general skate, and Sunday mornings on a rotating basis. The schedule allows each team 2 games per weekend from late November thru February that are 1 hour each. The season will culminate with playoffs and a championship game.
There is no weekly practice commitment, however, we do plan to offer a few skills clinics throughout the season to teach basic rules of the game and have some fun in a non-game setting. Dates of clinics will be communicated as we get closer to the season, and there will be NO additional cost for the clinics.
Teams are divided by way of DRAFT into 4 or 5 teams and are coached by volunteer parents, most of whom are experienced and addicted hockey folks, but not all, and we welcome other parents who would like to come out and assist (whether it be coaching or helping man the timer’s box – which happens to be the best seat in the house for game viewing!). Players will be on the ice with other players of equal skating and playing level, and the goal is to have even teams and close games.
Registration and payment are done online.
Cost: $400 per player.
